Councilman David Ryu, 4th District, announced a few changes to his senior leadership team this week.

Nicholas Greif, Ryu’s director of policy and legislation, was named the councilman’s new chief of staff, following the announcement of Sarah Dusseault’s pending departure at the end of September.

Estevan Montemayor, currently the director of communications and external affairs, has been named deputy chief of staff. He will continue to manage communications and external affairs, as well as oversee special projects.

Catherine Landers, who has served CD 4 in a number of capacities, including senior field deputy, joins the senior leadership team as director of special projects. She will manage special projects including park access, homelessness, and housing affordability.

Adeena Bleich will continue to serve in her role as deputy chief of staff, overseeing community relations, operations and process improvement.

Greif, Montemayor and Landers, who have been with Ryu’s team since his first year in office, will assume their new positions Oct. 1.

“Each member of my leadership team has been with the office since the very beginning, and have all played central roles in guiding our success,” Ryu said. “They have worked together on our biggest legislative achievements and districtwide initiatives, and I am excited to work with them to carry the mission forward.”
