Temple Beth Zion is preparing for the upcoming High Holy Days, with Rosh Hashana beginning at sunset on Sunday, Sept. 9, and Yom Kippur, beginning at sunset on Tuesday, Sept. 18.
Additionally, Temple Beth Zion is holding a special event after services this Saturday, Aug. 25, with Jerry Hirsch, author of “Aliyah to Zichron: The Story of Pioneers.”
Rabbi Moshe Halfon will conduct High Holy Days services in September. The temple is organizing a memorable service with continuity from previous years as well as new elements.
Temple Beth Zion president Stuart Noah said the temple is looking forward to observing the High Holy Days with the community. Improvements have been made to the temple including seat replacements and roof repairs.
“What we need now more than ever is you. Your presence, whether as a bright smiling face or one in need of cheer and support, is needed to make our house of worship a true home of God,” Noah added. “It is through our actions and behavior toward one another that show ourselves to be worthy of the cultural and religious legacy left to us by our ancestors. We would love to have you join us for all the holidays, or a Saturday morning Shabbat service.”
