A clerk was shot and killed on July 3 in a food mart at a Shell gas station at the corner of Hauser and Venice boulevards.
A female witness called police at approximately 5:40 a.m. and reported that she heard gunshots at the gas station, said Los Angeles Police Department spokesman Christopher No. Police arrived and found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound. Paramedics pronounced the victim dead at the scene.
The clerk was identified as Akram Hanna, 52, of Los Angeles. The witness described the suspects as black men who fled in a white, four-door Chevrolet Malibu.
The motive for the shooting is unknown, but investigators surmise it was robbery, No added. The clerk was alone inside the store at the gas station when he was shot.
Anyone with information is urged to call the LAPD’s West Bureau Homicide Unit at (213)382-9470.
