Santa Monica Playhouse’s most popular acting experience for youth, the Summer Theater Workshop camp program, is now open for enrollment. With one-week camp sessions available throughout the summer for kids and teens, there’s a session that fits every schedule and experience level.

“Young people explore all aspects of theater: playwriting, dance, voice, performance skills, improvisation, make-up and costumes, working together to help create and perform an original play or musical during each session,” artist and Playhouse Associate Director Serena Dolinsky said. “Why not join us? Create a few exciting, fabulous, awesomely unique shows with us this summer!”

Enrollment is now open for the one-week sessions for Youth Play Production (ages 7-12) and the Teen Performance Lab (ages 12-17), with a special session for Early Stagers (ages 4-6).

The invigorating Playhouse Theater Conservatory program for youth, now celebrating over four decades of theater workshops, classes and camps, combines the fun and excitement of working as a team to create and perform a brand-new play with the joy and fulfillment of a dynamic, creative, arts-oriented environment in which working actors share their love of the craft with young people in all stages of development.

Alumni of this acclaimed program include performers Kate Hudson, Oliver Hudson, Jason Ritter, Shana Feste, Zooey Deschanel, Emily Deschanel, Jason Segel, Azura Skye, Monet Mazur, Terri Nunn, Jon Kasdan, Obi Ndefo, Emmy Award winner Aisha Waglé, novelist Rebecca Donner, television writer and producer Rina Mimoun, casting director Liz Dean, journalist Gadi Dechter, Mickey Madden of Maroon 5 and Newark Superintendent of Schools Cami Anderson.
