Jewish Family Service of Los Angeles will hold its 25th annual gala on Wednesday, May 30, at the Beverly Hilton.

JFS will honor Scooter Braun and Yael Cohen Braun with the Spirit of Humanity Award, and Barbara Mack and Norman Levine with the Anita and Stanley Hirsh Award.

The Brauns will be honored for their support of JFS’ programs for Holocaust survivors. Scooter Braun is an entrepreneur and founder of SB Projects, which works with some of the top names in pop culture in addition to a diverse group of tech, television, film and entertainment representatives. Yael Braun founded an organization for people to discuss parenthood uncensored and co-founded a nonprofit providing prevention, early detection and support for people affected by cancer.

Mack and Levine will be honored for their dedicated support for JFS. Mack has contributed her photographic talents to numerous nonprofits. Her portraits of Holocaust survivors who are members of JFS’ Café Europa have been included in two books as well as exhibits at the Los Angeles Museum of the Holocaust, the U.S. Senate’s Russell Rotunda and the California state Legislature’s Annual Holocaust Remembrance ceremony.

Levine practices law at Greenberg Glusker in Century City, was president of Valley Beth Shalom Synagogue and is a board member for VBS and the Ziegler School of Rabbinic Studies at American Jewish University.

JFS provides social services to improve the quality of life for tens of thousands of people in the local community, including seniors, women, children and victims of domestic violence. JFS is the city’s oldest charitable organization and has been a trusted source of care and support, meeting the diverse and changing needs for more than 160 years.
