Author Services, Inc. and Galaxy Press will present “Magic and Wizardry,” the 34th annual L. Ron Hubbard Gala Achievement Awards celebrating the winners of the “Writers and Illustrators of the Future” contests on Sunday, April 8, at The MacArthur, 607 S. Park View St., at Wilshire Boulevard.

Twelve writers and 12 illustrators from around the world will be recognized for their excellence in the science fiction and fantasy genres. Additionally, illustrator Larry Elmore will receive a Lifetime Achievement Award.

The award show will be held in Elks Hall and will be followed by a book signing and reception in The Grand Ballroom. Red carpet arrivals begin at 5 p.m., followed by the event at 6:30 p.m.

The opening of the show will feature magician/illusionist Joel Meyers and hypnotist/mentalist Spidey performing illusions. The MacArthur is located 607 S. Park View St. Admission is free but RSVPs are required by calling (323)466-3310 or (800)624-7907, or by e mailing [email protected].
