Assemblywoman Sharon Quirk-Silva (D-Orange County) has announced that the 2018 California Latino Legislative Caucus Foundation Scholarship Program is accepting online applications.
The foundation will award thousands of dollars in scholarships to eligible students accepted by an accredited college or university. The deadline for submission is June 1.
“As a teacher of 30 years, and a member of the Assembly Committee on Higher Education, I am devoted to furthering programs that benefit our children. I look forward to working with school districts to address the needs of our students and their families,” said Quirk-Silva, a member of the California Latino Legislative Caucus. “As expenses for higher education continue to increase, it is important that students of every background find scholarships that are available to them.”
Eligible students are encouraged to submit applications for financial assistance to meet educational expenses. Sixty $1,000 scholarships will be awarded. Applicant eligibility requirements include being a full-time student in an accredited institution of higher learning with good academic standing, or a graduating high school senior with proof of acceptance to an accredited institution of higher learning with a minimum GPA of 2.5.
Candidates must submit an online application and provide supplementary paperwork. After the submission deadline, applications will be reviewed and scholarship winners will be announced on June 21. For information and applications, visit cllcf.org, or email scholarship@cllcf.org.
