California Senate President pro Tempore Kevin de León (D- Los Angeles), chair of the Senate Rules Committee, announced Rules Committee Appointments last week, which included Hollywood matriarch and entertainment industry advocate Donelle Dadigan.
Dadigan, an Independent from Los Angeles, has been appointed to the California Film Commission. She is president and founder of The Hollywood Museum, chairman of the Hollywood Historic Trust, a member of the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, and the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, among other organizations. The term will end on Jan. 24, 2020.
The California Film Commission encourages motion picture, television and commercial filming in California; supports productions of all sizes and budgets with location assistance and an extensive digital location library, free online permitting and other production assistance. The commission also administers the state’s Film and Television Tax Credit Program and counsels the Legislature and governor on issues relating to the motion picture industry.
Other appointees included David Steinhart (a Democrat from Marin), Monica Fitzgerald (a Democrat from Contra Costa), Guy Leemhuis (a Democrat from Riverside), Felicia Scruggs (a Democrat from Contra Costa), Luis Chavez (a Democrat from Fresno), Ali Tweini (a Democrat from Los Angeles), Barry Broad (a Democrat from Sacramento), Sejal Choksi-Chugh (a Democrat from Contra Costa), Teresa Alvarado (a Democrat from Santa Clara), Ricardo Lara (a Democrat from Bell Gardens), Debbie Manning (a Democrat from Sacramento), Joshua Perttula (a Democrat from Los Angeles), and Pamela Ling, (a Democrat from San Francisco).
