A missing Uber and Lyft driver who disappeared on Feb. 11 after last being seen when he dropped off a passenger in the 1000 block of Wilshire Boulevard was located on Feb. 19 in Koreatown.
The driver, Joshua Thiede, 29, lives in the Westlake District. After not being able to contact him for more than a week, family members called police last weekend.
Thiede’s 2014 Nissan Altima was found on Feb. 19 at approximately 12:30 p.m. parked in the 100 block of South Kingsley Drive. At approximately 8 p.m., a citizen called police after seeing a media report about the missing man and told officers an individual matching his description was in the 500 block of South Serrano Avenue.
Authorities responded and located Thiede, who was suffering from an unspecified medical condition, and took him to Good Samaritan Hospital. The LAPD issued a statement that said foul play is not suspected. Thiede was located approximately six blocks from where his vehicle was found.
Anyone with further information about the disappearance is asked to call the LAPD’s Missing Persons Unit at (213)996-1800.
