The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority is continuing work on the Purple Line Extension under Wilshire Boulevard.

To expedite decking and support construction activities in the very dense and heavily utilized area of Koreatown, a 10-day extended street closure of Wilshire Boulevard between Manhattan Place and Western Avenue will be implemented from Feb. 16 through 26. By implementing the extended closure, Metro anticipates reducing the number of full weekend closures by five weekends, and reducing the number of nights worked from 21 to 10. From Friday, Feb. 16 at 9 p.m. through Monday, Feb. 26 at 6 a.m., all lanes on Wilshire Boulevard will be closed between Manhattan Place and Western Avenue. Near Wilshire Boulevard and Norton Avenue, street restoration work continues. Concrete work, steel deliveries and underground work is occurring near Wilshire Boulevard and La Brea Avenue. Near Wilshire Boulevard and Fairfax Avenue, excavation and hauling is underway, and near Wilshire and La Cienega boulevards, the contractor is continuing with excavation, instrumentation, hauling and utility hanging.
