Detectives with the Los Angeles Police Department’s West Traffic Division are investigating a collision on Jan. 23 in the 5200 block of Beverly Boulevard that resulted in three people being hospitalized in critical condition.

The collision occurred shortly after 5 p.m. on Beverly Boulevard between Rossmore Boulevard and Hudson Street. Officer Joseph Massie said the male driver of a Chevrolet Tahoe was traveling east on Beverly Boulevard when he crossed the center line and struck the front of a Honda Accord traveling in the opposite direction. The Tahoe overturned as a result of the collision.

Massie said his preliminary investigation determined that the Tahoe driver may have tried to avoid striking another vehicle and crossed over the center line, striking the Honda. Alcohol or drug impairment was not a factor, he added.

The unidentified Tahoe driver is 43 years old. The Honda was driven by an unidentified 60-year-old woman, who was accompanied by her 23-year-old son in the passenger seat. All three individuals who were injured are recovering, Massie added.
