For the next program in the Los Angeles County Museum of Art’s Director’s Series, the museum will host a discussion on Tuesday, Jan. 9, at 7:30 p.m. between Michael Govan, CEO and Wallis Annenberg director of LACMA, and W. Richard West Jr., president and CEO of the Autry Museum of the American West, on the new partnership between the two institutions.
Inspired by both museums’ renowned and complementary collections – spanning from the ancient to the contemporary, and including art of the ancient Americas at LACMA and the Autry’s Native North American cultural materials – the agreement will facilitate collections sharing, curatorial collaborations, scholarly research and thoughtful programming.
Govan and West will discuss this new partnership and the evolving, increasingly collaborative approach of museums in the 21st century. The event will take place in LACMA’s Bing Theater. Admission is free but advance registration is required.
LACMA is located at 5905 Wilshire Blvd.
