On Monday, Jan. 22, Beverly Hills Conference & Visitors Bureau hosted its Chinese New Year Press Conference at its office, welcoming media from China and local publications. The BHCVB, in partnership with China International Culture Association and Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei Associations for Cultural Exchanges, with the support of the Chinese Consulate of Los Angeles, will host its seventh annual Chinese New Year celebration at the Saban Theatre on Sunday, Feb. 11 at 2 p.m.

During the press conference, Julie Wagner, CEO of BHCVB, announced that there will be 13 different performances such as: the Hebei Chang’an Golden Eagle Acrobatic Troupe demonstrating the Chinese yo-yo (a blend of opera, dancing, acrobatics and gymnastics), flower arranging and paper cutting demonstrations, magic tricks by renown magician Li Yang, a vocal performance accompanied by the morin khuur (horsehead fiddle), a martial arts demonstration and more.
Wang Jin, cultural consul of the Chinese Consulate in Los Angeles, made an appearance, elaborating on the event celebrating the Year of the Dog. Delta Air Lines was named the event’s official airline and sponsors include Stefano Ricci and Two Rodeo Drive.
