Using such authors as Raymond Chandler and James M. Cain as inspiration, the Impro Theatre ensemble will start off with audience suggestions and embody private detectives, femme fatales and a cadre of colorful characters from Los Angeles’ dark and seedy underbelly of the ‘40s and ‘50s in completely improvised tales of seduction and murder.
The residency continues with six more months of unpredictable, improvised plays, including “Jane Austen UnScripted,” which will run from Dec. 15 – 17.
Impro Theatre has a long history with The Broad Stage, where the company performed “Jane Austen UnScripted” for several years, as well as performed the world premieres of “Fairytale UnScripted” and “1966 Holiday Variety Extravaganza.”
In 2016, Impro Theatre received two Ovation Award for Best Presented Production for “Jane Austen UnScripted” at The Broad Stage and Best Featured Actress in a Musical for Michele Spears’ performance in “Sondheim UnScripted.”
On Nov. 10, the show will begin at 8 p.m. On Nov. 11, the shows will be at 5 and 8 p.m. And on Nov. 12, the shows will be at 2 and 5 p.m.
