On Saturday, Dec. 2, the Los Angeles Philharmonic kicks off its Toyota Symphonies for Youth concerts for the 2017-18 season at Walt Disney Concert Hall at 11 a.m. Designed for children ages 5 to 11, the concerts introduce kids to classical music through the experience of live orchestra performance and theater.
On Dec. 2 and 9, the LA Phil will perform Igor Stravinsky’s “Firebird.” Each concert is preceded by a choice of workshops at 10 a.m. that incorporate art, dance, storytelling and an instrument petting zoo.
Select Symphonies for Youth concerts will be conducted by participants from the 2017-18 Dudamel Fellowship Program.
