American Youth Symphony (AYS) is seeking applicants for its next season and is encouraging prospective members to sign up for auditions.
AYS welcomes musicians playing all instruments who will be at least 15 years old by Sept. 30. The program includes musicians in high school through doctoral programs with an average age of 22.
The symphony’s Fellowship Program provides a per-concert stipend of $275 to $500, and tuition-free training focused on the study and performance of classical masterworks, cutting-edge new music and film scores. Fellows study, engage with their community, work with top guest artists and composers, develop leadership skills and perform at concerts in some of the most prestigious venues in Los Angeles.
AYS’s mission is to inspire future generations of classical musicians. Auditions are free and will be held from Aug. 28 through Sept. 3. Applicants must complete and submit an online application form, and will be notified by email about an audition. For information and applications, visit aysymphony.org.
