Last week, the Los Angeles Museum of the Holocaust began its third summer partnering with the Los Angeles Unified School District’s Beyond the Bell program.
During Beyond the Bell, students in summer classes at eight middle schools from across Los Angeles visit the museum to learn Holocaust history, dialogue with Holocaust survivors, and reflect through visual art projects. Meeting in the quiet and tranquil Children’s Memorial at the museum, students work on watercolor paintings that reflect spaces of memory or sanctuary in their own lives.
The Los Angeles Museum of the Holocaust is located at 100 The Grove Drive. For information, visit lamoth.org.
