The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office is warning the public about email phishing scams, which often target seniors.
Perpetrators impersonate a legitimate company or governmental department with the goal of stealing a victim’s personal information or login passwords. They often threaten victims or claim it is urgent they reply to dupe them into providing information. People should never click on links in a suspicious email. Visit the website or call or email the purported sender at their known web address or phone number to verify.
