Bring your dog on Saturday, July 8 to Ray’s and Stark Bar near LACMA’s “Urban Light” installation and enjoy weekend brunch on the patio. Chef Fernando Darin’s brunch menu includes dishes for people and their canine companions. Sip a brunch cocktail while enjoying Darin’s brioche French toast, soft scrambled egg tartine, house-cured salmon toast and breakfast pizza. Homemade dog food is available for pets such as steamed chicken and broccoli bowls, chicken liver and brown rice cookies, and pupsicle treats. Salsa festival this weekend
EZ Production presents a family-oriented salsa music festival on Saturday, July 8 and Sunday, July 9 from noon to 8 p.m. at Pershing Square in downtown Los Angeles. Fabian Otero and the West Coast Salsa Orchestra will perform, and Cristian Oviedo will lead salsa dancing lessons. DJ Charlie Antilon kicks off the free festivities, which also feature a Kids Zone. Trejo’s Cantina opens in Pasadena
A month after Red White + Bluezz closed in Pasadena, Jeff Georgino and Ash Shah have renovated and opened a Trejo’s Cantina in the space next to the Pasadena Playhouse. The 120-seat restaurant is a new full service dining destination just east of Old Town Pasadena. It features 10 taps, signature margaritas and cocktails including the O.G., Rum Horchata, Three Amigos, Gringo, El Diablo, Tequila Negroni and Tequila Mojito. A prix-fixe, pre-theater menu is served from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dishes include Trejo’s Mexican wings, street corn, steak asada, grilled chicken, cauliflower bowls, quesadillas, street tacos and burritos. The first Trejo’s Tacos opened on La Brea Avenue in 2016, and the restaurant in Pasadena is the fourth location. A fifth Trejo’s Tacos is scheduled to open in August at USC Village. 37 S. Summer dining at Napa Valley Grille
Napa Valley Grille has debuted a three-course, summer-themed menu for $35. Choose from albacore crudo or garden vegetable and orecchiette pasta salad with Brussels sprouts, artichokes, roasted yellow squash, spinach, grape tomatoes and grilled bacon dressing. The entrée is a small filet mignon and three grilled jumbo prawns with diced summer vegetables. The Lemonade Stand at TART
TART kicks off summer with The Lemonade Stand, a new outdoor bar in the restaurant’s courtyard at the Farmer’s Daughter Hotel.
