A 23-year-old homeless man was charged on June 15 for allegedly murdering a male victim near the Hollywood (101) Freeway and Hollywood Boulevard on June 12.

Alex Conn Vasquez faces one count of murder with the special circumstance allegation of murder during the commission of a robbery. The charge also includes the special allegation that Vazquez used a knife to commit the crime.
Prosecutors said the defendant allegedly got into an altercation with victim Jimmy Bradford, 47, and stabbed him multiple times in the back. Investigators said the victim is also believed to be a transient.
The defendant is being held without bail. He faces the death penalty or life in prison without the possibility of parole if convicted. A decision on whether to seek the death penalty will be made at a later date.
