Work on the Purple Line Extension subway project is ongoing along Wilshire Boulevard. Advanced utility relocation work will continue during evening hours on the north side of Wilshire Boulevard between La Cienega and San Vicente Boulevards, and during daytime hours along La Cienega Boulevard just north of Wilshire Boulevard through Friday, June 2.

Phase three of decking operations are also scheduled to begin on June 2 at 8 p.m. through Monday, June 5 at 6 a.m. There will be a full closure of Wilshire Boulevard between Fairfax Avenue and Crescent Heights Boulevard. Lane reductions will start at 10 a.m. on June 2 to accomplish the noisier activities during daytime hours.

Additionally, jet grouting will continue on Wilshire Boulevard in new locations near Highland Avenue beginning on Friday, June 9. Jet grouting reinforces and strengthens the soil with concrete to support tunneling. The operation will take approximately 8 to 12 weeks.

Potholing and jet grouting will also occur through June 4 near Wilshire and Crenshaw Boulevards. Westbound Wilshire Boulevard will be closed between Crenshaw Boulevard and Windsor Avenue from Friday, June 2 at 9 p.m. through Sunday, June 4 at 7 a.m.

There will also be intermittent changes to traffic control and street lighting on Wilshire Boulevard from Orange Drive to La Brea Avenue.

Excavation is also occurring behind a closed area in the street at Wilshire Boulevard and Sycamore Avenue. Additionally, geotechnical instrumentation and decking preparation is occurring near Wilshire Boulevard and Fairfax Avenue.
