A 41-year-old man pleaded no contest on May 24 to charges of breaking into the West Los Angeles home of actress Sandra Bullock in 2014, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced.

Joshua James Corbett entered an open plea to one felony count each of stalking and first-degree residential burglary. An open plea means a sentence was not negotiated with prosecutors.

Corbett was immediately sentenced to five years of formal probation and continued treatment at a mental health facility. A 10-year protective order also was issued. Deputy District Attorney Wendy Segall prosecuted the case.

On June 8, 2014, Corbett climbed over a fence to get onto Bullock’s property. He broke into her home while the actress was inside.

Police responded to a 911 call and found Corbett, who was immediately arrested. The incident was investigated by the Los Angeles Police Department.
