Detectives with the Los Angeles Police Department’s Robbery-Homicide Division are investigating a home invasion robbery that occurred at approximately 11:30 p.m. on May 16 in the 300 block of N. Flores Street, near Beverly Boulevard.

LAPD spokeswoman Rosario Herrera said three unknown male suspects, one armed with a handgun, approached a female victim outside the residence. They forced the victim to take them inside and ordered her to open a safe.

When the victim was unable to open the safe, the suspects tried to carry it away, but the safe was too heavy and they left it behind, Herrera said. The suspects stole property, but Herrera said she did not have information about what was taken.

According to media reports, the home in the Beverly Grove neighborhood belongs to rapper A$AP Rocky, whose real name is Rakim Mayers. Media reports also stated that the property stolen was $1.5 million in jewelry, although that could not be confirmed by law enforcement sources. No description of the suspects was available. Herrera said the incident is under investigation and she had no further details.
