The Beverly Hills Police Department is investigating a report that a witness made about a suspicious incident in late April involving a man who may have attempted to kidnap a female child.

Authorities received the report on May 1 about the incident on Saturday, April 29 between 4:50 and 5:10 p.m. in a residential neighborhood south of Wilshire Boulevard between Robertson and La Cienega boulevards. The witness reported the incident two days after it occurred. Police did not provide details about why there was a delay in reporting the incident.

The witness saw an unknown man approach a female child who was playing outside her residence. The man allegedly attempted to usher the child into his vehicle.

The witness said there was no physical contact between the man and the child. He entered his vehicle and drove away when the witness confronted him.

The man was described as Hispanic, 30 to 40 years old, approximately 5 feet 7 inches tall with an average build and dark hair. He was wearing a black T-shirt, black pants and a red baseball cap. The vehicle was described as a charcoal grey, four-door Honda Accord with tinted windows.
