The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) will continue advanced utility relocation work in Beverly Hills through Friday, May 26 as part of the Purple Line Extension subway project.

The work is occurring along the north side of Wilshire Boulevard near Gale Drive, and during daytime hours along La Cienega just north of Wilshire Boulevard. Northbound La Cienega Boulevard will be reduced to two lanes near Wilshire Boulevard from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday-Friday. Evening work will consist of conduit placement. The westbound curb lane of Wilshire Boulevard will be closed intermittently at Gale Drive. There will also be intermittent closures of north Gale Drive, and a partial sidewalk closure on the east side of Gale Drive.

Metro has launched a one-hour parking validation program at 8350 Wilshire Blvd. and 8447 Wilshire Blvd. The parking replaces metered spots removed along Wilshire Boulevard between San Vicente and La Cienega Boulevards in Beverly Hills. One-hour parking validation will be provided Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Motorists must mention “Metro” for validation.

Additional Purple Line Extension project construction will also continue in the Miracle Mile and Wilshire Center neighborhoods through May 26. Pot holing will occur near Wilshire and Crenshaw Boulevards. There will be intermittent changes to traffic control and street lighting on Wilshire Boulevard from Orange Drive to La Brea Avenue. Excavation is also occurring behind a closed area in the street at Wilshire Boulevard and Sycamore Avenue.

Metro is also completing geotechnical instrumentation and decking preparation near Wilshire Boulevard and Fairfax Avenue.
