The winner of the 9th annual Heath Ledger Scholarship will be announced at a fundraising dinner on Thursday, June 1 at the Sunset Marquis Hotel in West Hollywood.

Australians in Film’s Heath Ledger Scholarship is awarded to an actor who exhibits distinctive and unique potential. The scholarship provides support to help start the career of an emerging Australian actor in Hollywood.

The award was established in 2008 in memory of the late actor, Ledger. To date, more than $250,000 in scholarships has been awarded. This year’s prize incudes a seven-day trip to California and $16,000 for expenses.

Finalists include Dakota Shapiro, Daniel Monks, Hunter Page, Mitzi Ruhlmann, Mojean Aria, Morgan Griffin, Ratidzo Mambo, Sam Delich, Tilda Cobham-Harvey and Shalom Brun-Franklin. Red carpet arrivals begin at 6:30 p.m., followed by dinner and the award announcement at 7:30 p.m.
