Administrators and students held a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Tuesday for a new outdoor learning space and gardening project at Wilshire Park Elementary School in Koreatown. The Los Angeles Unified School District replaced an area currently paved with asphalt with a garden featuring drought-tolerant plants. The project is a joint effort between L.A. Unified and the Koreatown Youth and Community Center. Funding was provided by a Proposition 84 grant from the California Natural Resources Agency. Wilshire Park Elementary School is located at 4063 Ingraham St., near Wilshire Boulevard and Norton Avenue. For information, visit lausd.net.
