The Los Angeles County Arts Commission has announced that paid summer jobs are available for 132 college students through the Los Angeles County Arts Internship Program. The positions run for 10 weeks and pay $480 per week starting June 5. Interns will learn about the working in nonprofit arts administration and can take part in educational and arts networking activities funded by The Getty Foundation. The Getty Foundation supports internships at Los Angeles County museums and visual arts organizations through its Multicultural Undergraduate Internship Program, a companion to the Arts Commission’s internship program.
Seniors who complete their undergraduate degrees between May 1 and Sept. 1 are eligible, as well as current undergraduate students. Applicants must have completed at least one semester of college by June and be currently enrolled in a community college or four-year university.
Applicants must be residents attending school in Los Angeles County. Students should apply directly to the organization offering an internship, not the arts commission. Detailed descriptions, including contacts for the internship positions, are available by visiting lacountyarts.org/internships.
