The 22nd annual Los Angeles Times Festival of Books, the largest literary and cultural festival in the country, will be held on Saturday, April 22 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday, April 23 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the USC campus.

Numerous author appearances, panels and performances will be featured. Scheduled speakers and attendees include Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Margaret Atwood, Andrew Aydin, T.C. Boyle, Michael Connelly, Bryan Cranston, Ayesha Curry, Roxane Gay, Dave Grohl, Virginia Grohl, Hannah Hart, Chris Hayes, Tippi Hedren, Marlon James, Clinton Kelly, Rep. John Lewis, M.G. Lord, Cheech Marin, Danica McKellar, Carol Muske-Dukes, Viet Thanh Nguyen, Joyce Carol Oates, Kelly Oxford, Chuck Palahniuk, Nate Powell, Mary Roach, Luis J. Rodríguez, George Saunders, John Scalzi, Scott Simon, Angie Thomas, Stephen Tobolowsky and Ngugi wa Thiong’o.

Panels in the Wallis Annenberg Hall include “Walls and Lines in the Sand: The Shifting Landscape of Immigration,” “What Are We So Afraid Of? The Role of Fear in Our Lives,” “Truth Matters: Media in the Age of Fake News and Alternative Facts,” “Hapa: Mixed-Race Identity and Representation,” “Is This Goodbye, NEA? Addressing Our Fears and Hopes for the Arts and Humanities” and “Living Long or Living Well: Can We Do Both?” Other highlights include a magic show, mariachis and readings by USC athletic director and football legend Lynn Swann, ABC7 News personality Alysha Del Valle and Ana Guerrero, chief of staff for Mayor Eric Garcetti.
