The National Council of Jewish Women, Los Angeles (NCJW/LA) is seeking support for its scholarship program, which provides funding to ease the financial burden of people trying to better their lives through education.

Recipients include survivors of interpersonal violence, single parents needing childcare and first generation college students. NCJW/LA provides scholarships regardless of race, ethnicity, religion, age, gender identity, sexuality or national origin to people who live and attend school in the Los Angeles area. Applicants must meet selection criteria including the ability to articulate a clear statement of goals, the likelihood of goal attainment, demonstration of personal courage and commitment, and financial need. The current application period runs through May 1; a second application period runs from Aug.1 through Nov. 1. For information, visit ncjwla.org.
