Big Sunday, a philanthropic organization based on Melrose Avenue, will host volunteers and community members at an event on Monday, Jan. 16 from 9 a.m. to noon coinciding with Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. Participants will sort clothing donated to Big Sunday for disadvantaged people. A community breakfast will be held. The event celebrates King’s spirit of community-building. Participants are also invited to join Big Sunday’s “Something in Common” photo project. Items can also be donated at Big Sunday, 6111 Melrose Ave. For information, visit bigsunday.org.
