Investigators in Beverly Hills are searching for two or three suspects who burglarized a residence in the 500 block of North Walden Drive on Dec. 5.
The homeowner was notified at approximately 8 p.m. about a break-in at his residence by an app connected to a home security system with video surveillance cameras. The owner was not home at the time, but the app enabled him to see the burglars in his house, and he called police.
Beverly Hills Police Department Lt. Lincoln Hoshino said officers arrived at the residence within three minutes but the suspects had already fled. However, police thought the suspects barricaded themselves inside and surrounded the house, resulting in a standoff that lasted several hours.
“We thought they were in the attic,” Hoshino said. “It turns out when officers arrived, they had fled.”
The suspects stole jewelry valued at less than $1,000, Hoshino added. No further description was available of the suspects.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Beverly Hills Police Department at (310)550-4951.
