Italian winemaker event at Officine BRERA
Officine BRERA beverage director Francine Diamond-Ferdinandi will pour a selection of sparkling wines from the northern Italian La Montina Winery tonight from 7 to 10 p.m. Winemaker Michele Bozza will answer questions about the wines and explain the differences between franciacorta, prosecco and champagne. E.P. chef Louis Tikaram will serve a limited-time, family-style “holiday hawker” menu from Monday, Dec. 26 through Wednesday, Jan. 4. Hawkers are open-air food complexes common in Asia. Toast the new year at Yamashiro restaurant
Yamashiro restaurant, which is known for its skyline views of Los Angeles, is offering multiple New Year’s Eve dining options to ring in 2017. Specials include a first seating from 5 to 8:30 p.m. with two prix-fixe menu choices, including one for $99 per person, and a sushi and sashimi menu for $125 per person. Both options include a complimentary glass of champagne and a visit to a photo booth for a keepsake. The second seating, from 9 to 11:30 p.m., is priced at $150 per person. Two menu options are available, including the sushi and sashimi menu. Guests who choose the later seating option will also receive party favors and enjoy a champagne toast at midnight and music by a DJ. The Cannibal L.A. beer classes
Culver City’s new meat- and beer-focused restaurant The Cannibal is offering weekly beer classes every Saturday at 5:30 p.m. Beer director and certified cicerone Julian Kurland curates the restaurant’s extensive, 350-plus bottle collection. The classes are $25 per person and include an introduction to basic beer ingredients and components, the brewing process and how to properly taste beer.
