Tamales for the holidays
Gracias Madre is bringing back its vegan sweet and savory tamales, which are available to go during the holidays. The calabazas con mole tamales are made with butternut squash with mole sauce. For a sweet treat, the tamales de manzana include pineapple Gravenstein apple filling. The tamales are $36 per dozen. Faith & Flower Christmas Eve
Enjoy a winter holiday-themed prix-fixe menu at Faith & Flower’s Christmas Eve dinner. The evening features dishes with global influences and flavors for $65 per person. Herringbone Santa Monica is offering a Christmas Eve seafood-centric menu for $100 per person. Diners will enjoy seven savory courses including Parker House rolls with whipped uni butter and Osetra caviar; big eye tuna crudo; king salmon confit; spot prawn bucatini; butter poached Maine lobster; loup de mare; and torta del nonna lemon curd with dulce de leche gelato. Century City Christmas
The InterContinental Los Angeles Century City’s restaurant Mari is offering a three-course, prix-fixe family-style menu on Dec. 24 and on Dec. 25 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., and from 5:30 to 9 p.m. The menu features prime rib, pommes purée, roasted winter veggies, cabernet demi sole Brussels sprouts, pomegranate beurre blanc, salmon roe, chicken saltimbocca and roasted mixed potatoes. Holidays at Maple Block Meat Company
Order Hanukkah and Christmas dinner brisket by the pound or a whole brisket sliced from the Maple Block Meat Company. The bone-in prime rib is two to seven pounds and comes with horseradish cream and caramelized shallots. Venetian-inspired Mr. C festivities
The lobby lounge at Mr. C is decorated for the holidays. Guests can enjoy vin brûlée bellinis made with housemade Italian mulled wine reduction topped with Cipriani Prosecco and a splash of lemon juice, available evenings from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m. The restaurant is serving a Feast of the Seven Fishes on Christmas Eve. The menu includes an assortment of seafood dishes, including marinated Alaskan halibut, shrimp and tuna tartare, seafood risotto and wild branzino. Vinoteca’s executive pastry chef Federico Fernandez is baking treats that can be enjoyed in the restaurant or taken home. His gingerbread houses are built on a chocolate base with custom designs. The panettone has candied orange and chocolate chips. The fresh stollen with candied fruit, hazelnut, almond, pistachio and marzipan is made from a German Four Seasons recipe that has been passed along throughout the years. Guests can also enjoy a four-course Culina Christmas Eve dinner from 6 to 11 p.m. The menu includes mushroom carpaccio, squid ink rigatoni and roasted fillet of cod. Finish with tronchetto di natale with chocolate gelato and caramelized pistachio, or mascarpone cannoli with white chocolate snow and espresso gelato.
