Black Friday Salt & Straw event
Salt & Straw is collaborating with visual artist Scott Hove at the company’s new Arts District ice cream shop to unveil the new “Dualpolitan” flavor on Friday, Nov. 25. The ice cream is a modern twist on classic Neapolitan and a play on the dualism in Hove’s artwork. The white layer represents purity and light, yet tastes bitter and dark. The black layer represents shadow and mystery, and the pink ice cream layer represents hope and dreams. It’s packaged in a limited edition, half gallon “cake art” carton that mimics Hove’s three-dimensional sculptures. Only 200 packages signed by Hove will be sold for $50 each. The shop will donate 100 percent of proceeds to the nonprofit Inner-City Arts, which provides arts education on Skid Row. 829 E. Third St. (213)988-7070.
