At approximately 6:40 p.m., the suspect confronted two victims walking near Rodeo Drive and Brighton Way. The suspect pointed a handgun and demanded that the victims give him their watches. The victims complied and the suspect fled eastbound on foot.
Detectives used video surveillance footage to see where the suspect went after he fled the crime scene. Investigators identified the suspect’s vehicle, which was later located in Inglewood. The suspect, identified as 22-year-old Kenyon Donester, of Altadena, was arrested shortly after the vehicle was located.
One of the victims’ watches was recovered, but police are still searching for the second watch. Lt. Lincoln Hoshino, with the Beverly Hills Police department, said he did not know the brand of the watches, but authorities released a photograph of the missing watch.
Donestar was charged with two counts of second degree robbery and one count of identity theft. He is scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 12.
Anyone with information about the missing watch is asked to call the Beverly Hills Police Department’s detective bureau tip line at (310)288-2656.
