The city of Beverly Hills is moving forward with a video presentation to help educate voters on Measure HH – The Hilton Condominium Tower Initiative.

Public information officer Therese Kosterman said more than 50 questions were submitted by the community and the video should be ready by Oct. 24 or 25.

According to community outreach manager Huma Ahmed, the proposed format for the video presentation will include a 10-15 minute staff presentation.

A professor at USC was selected to be the moderator and will conduct a question-and-answer segment after the staff presentation.

To acquire the answers for that segment, the moderator will vet the questions from the community and forward them to the authors of the ballot arguments for and against the initiative. Questions and responses will also be displayed on-screen. Responses will be limited to 150 words. Kosterman said the city had not received answers from proponents or opponents by press time Wednesday.

If either side does not respond to a question, the screen will be left blank.

The presentation will be aired multiple times on Beverly Hills TV (channel 10) until Nov. 8, and posted on the city’s website and social media pages.

UPDATE: Spokeswoman Marie Garvey said last week that the proponents of Measure HH are happy to participate and are working with the city to finalize details of the city’s video presentation.

Representatives with the city clarified Thursday that the proponents agreed to participate by submitting answers for the question-and-answer segment of the city’s video presentation, but they are not working directly with city staff to make or produce the video.

Additionally, an earlier version of this article stated the moderator of the video could develop answers based on prior comments or information published by opponents or proponents or leave the screen blank if either side chose not to answer any of the questions. City officials decided the moderator will not develop any questions, the screen will only be left blank under that circumstance.
