Winless Beverly Hills hopefully made some improvements during their bye week in preparation to face the 1-4 Hawthorne Cougars who were trounced by the Leuzinger High School last weekend, 68-7. Look for the Normans to go for their first win Friday, Oct. 7 at 7 p.m. at home.

Fairfax barely salvaged their unbeaten season last week with a 27-26 win over Bell High School after Bell’s kicker missed an extra point with 3 minutes left in the game. Senior running backs Markell White and Ryan Kennedy both rushed for a touchdown each. Aaron Walton added 97 yards including one for 34 yards. The 5-0 Lions travel to Venice this Friday to play Venice Gondoliers at 7 p.m. on October 7. Venice High School is located at 13000 Venice Blvd.
Hollywood Sheiks

The Sheiks face off at home against the 2-4 Legacy Tigers this Friday, Oct. 7 at 7 p.m. Hollywood will look to continue their momentum from a 34-20 win over Contreras High School, their second win in a row.

The Romans face the Dorsey Dons at home this weekend at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 7. L.A. High will look to recover from a 13-6 loss, their first of the season, at the hands of Narbonne High School. Dorsey’s explosive offense is averaging 32 points per game.

Loyola travels to West Hills this Friday to face Chaminade High School Oct. 7 at 7 p.m. The struggling Cubs lost last week to Serra, 41-30 in a valiant effort aided by senior quarterback Sean O’Malley who threw for 372 yards and three touchdowns and ran for one more in the losing effort. After Friday, Loyola faces matchups against key league rivals, Crespi, Alemany and Sherman Oaks Notre Dame. Chaminade High School is located at 7500 Chaminade Ave., in West Hills.
