Beverly Hills High School suffered their worst defeat of the season Friday with a 69-0 loss to El Segundo. This is their seventh loss in a row and second in league play. El Segundo’s offense was led by senior quarterback Kobe Malaki Igarade who threw for 184 yards and three touchdowns. Four El Segundo running backs and two receivers added touchdowns for the Eagles. The Normans struggled on both sides of the ball, only completing two first downs, giving up over 500 all-purpose yards, and allowing four sacks, two fumbles and a 71-yard punt return by Eagles’ junior Danny McEntee. Beverly Hills will travel to Santa Monica High School to face the 3-4 Vikings on Friday, Oct. 21 at 7 p.m. The Vikings are coming off two losses including a 40-28 loss to Hawthorne last Friday. Santa Monica is led by standout senior running back Antonio Holley who in three games has run for eight touchdowns and caught two more. Santa Monica High School is located at 601 Pico Blvd., in Santa Monica.
Fairfax Lions

The Fairfax Lions improved to 6-1 on the season with an impressive 43-14 league win over University High School at home last Friday. The Lions offense was led by a dominant rushing performance by Ryan Kennedy who ran for 209 yards and two touchdowns and caught three passes and an interception. Senior Aaron Walton and junior Andrew Shin both added touchdowns each. The Lions’ defense was led by senior William Harris who had nine solo tackles and recovered a fumble while sophomore Conroy Graham returned an interception for 28 yards. The Lions will travel to the coast to face Palisades High School Dolphins on on Friday, Oct. 21. Palisades High is 6-1 overall and undefeated in league play. The Dolphins offense rests heavily on 5 foot 5 senior star running back Innocent Okoh who is averaging nine yards per carry and has run for 13 touchdowns and caught two more for over 1,000 yards of total offense this year. Palisades High School is located at 15777 Bowdoin St. Game time is 7 p.m.
Hollywood Sheiks

The Sheiks turned in a decisive 45-20 victory over Legacy High School last Friday, led by a stellar defensive performance with seniors Sergio Ipina and Florencio Dawson making 14 and 10 tackles respectively. Hollywood looks to stay undefeated in league as they travel to Belmont High School to battle the 4-3 Sentinels on Friday, Oct. 21 at 7 p.m. The Sentinels are on a three-game winning streak and coming off a 46-6 win over Roybal High School last weekend. Star Sentinels running back Isaiah Chatman has 603 yards and seven touchdowns on the season, while star receiver Keiyon Johnson has 18 receptions for 298 yards and four touchdowns. Belmont’s defense is led by star senior Najee Singleton who has seven sacks on the year. Belmont High School is located at 1575 W. Second St.
Los Angeles Romans

The Los Angeles Romans clobbered the Manual Arts Toilers 56-0 last Friday bringing the Romans to 1-1 in league play and 5-2 overall. The Romans next face the undefeated 7-0 Hawkins Hawks on Friday, Oct. 21 at 7 p.m. at Hawkins High School. The Hawks have shutout two teams this season and are outscoring opponents 237-76. Hawks star quarterback senior Dylan Lemle has passed for 1,252 yards and 13 touchdowns and given up only one interception. Senior running back Greg Johnson has run for 832 yards and seven touchdowns and is averaging over 10 yards a carry. Hawkins High School is located at 825 West 60th St.
Loyola Cubs

The Loyola Cubs bounced back from a punishing shutout loss to Chaminade with a 28-17 win over division rival Crespi last weekend. The Cubs offense leaned on strong running performances by senior Patrick O’Reilly and junior Dakota Smith who both rushed for two touchdowns and over 130 yards each. Quarterback Sean O’Malley had 80 all purpose yards including a 27-yard completion to senior receiver Jack Webster. Junior Jack Fitzgerald led the defense with 12 tackles while Alex Johnson and Jack Webster both caught interceptions. Loyola next faces the Alemany Warriors at home Friday, Oct. 21 at 7 p.m. Alemany is coming off a loss to Chaminade last weekend but has confidence in senior quarterback Miles Bryant who’s thrown for 1,304 yards and 12 touchdowns this season while star running back Cayden Dunn has 1,024 yards and 13 touchdowns on the ground.
