MOCA Pacific Design Center presents “Gaetano Pesce: Molds (Gelati Misti),” a selection of cast-resin objects made by Italian artist Pesce running through Nov. 27. Organized by MOCA senior curator Bennett Simpson, the exhibit focuses on Pesce’s vases with colorful and pliable body-like forms. It also includes a selection of chairs, lamps and two-dimensional cast-resin reliefs the designer calls “industrial skins.”
Organized with Pesce collector and scholar John R. Geresi, the exhibition will highlight the artist’s use of resin, molds and casting techniques. It will also feature the designer’s wooden molds, as well as process drawings and video.
MOCA Pacific Design Center is located at 8687 Melrose Ave. For information, visit www.moca.org.
