Legendary composer Williams to lead orchestra on movie night
Composer and conductor John Williams returns to the Hollywood Bowl on Friday, Sept. 2 and Saturday, Sept. 3 at 8 p.m., and Sunday, Sept. 4 at 7:30 p.m., for a concert with Hollywood Bowl movie night maestro David Newman.
Newman conducts the first half of the program, “A Salute to Paramount Pictures,” with performances of film score classics such as “The Godfather,” “Sunset Boulevard,” “North by Northwest” and “Sabrina.” Williams conducts the the second half of the program, which includes his music from “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” as well as other music from the “Star Wars” series. Many selections will be accompanied by film clips on The Bowl’s big screen.
