The Korean Cultural Center, Los Angeles (KCCLA) presents “Master Kim Hwasun’s Gayageum & Chung Jaeyoung, Jung Jaeryong’s Chojeok,” a Hanmaum Traditional Music and Dance Arts Group performance on Friday, Sept. 16 at 7 p.m.
Namhui Jeong and Chunsub Gang’s masterpieces will be performed. Additionally, the concert will feature different music genres using traditional Korean instruments such as gayageum and chojeok (leaf flute). Musical styles include gayageum sanjo, gayagem byeongchang, chojeok sanjo, chojok palace music, Korean popular songs, Korean and American folk songs, nursery rhymes and more.
Master Hwasun Kim has more than 50 years of experience in gayageum performances. Masters Jaeyoung Chung and Jaeryong Jung are experts in performing nature-like chojeok music.
