New principal Patricia Klindworth is looking forward to welcoming students this fall.
Since 1989, Klindworth has served as senior director of Page Academy’s campuses in Orlando, Florida and has worked with staff at the Los Angeles campuses over the past two years on accreditation. She recently moved to Los Angeles and is preparing for the start of school on Aug. 8. In addition to serving as principal at Page Academy-Hancock Park, Klindworth will oversee the the school’s Beverly Hills campus.
“I have always believed in the philosophy of Page Academy, which is growth with honor,” Klindworth said. “We build [student] character, develop them through our caring staff and have smaller classroom sizes. Building community within the school and building relationships outside the school will be one of my main goals this year.”
The focus will also be on academics and enriching students’ lives, the new principal said.
“I believe in developing the whole child, socially, academically and emotionally,” she said. “We take a holistic approach that helps each student grow.”
Page Academy-Hancock Park serves students from preschool through 8th grade, and the Beverly Hills campus serves students from preschool through 6th grade. The curriculum focuses on core academic subjects such as reading, writing and math, as well as performing arts and physical education. Spanish, art and music classes are taught, and students take advantage of a state-of-the-art computer lab. Physical education opportunities are provided, including swimming. Programs also include a student council to help develop leadership and public speaking skills, Klindworth said.
Klindworth’s official title is senior director, which reflects her experience as an innovator and leader in school administration for more than 35 years. She has earned many professional awards and certifications and chaired or co-chaired accreditation teams.
