Thai Town tour
Celebrity chef Jet Tila’s “Flavors of Thai Town” will tour the Los Angeles neighborhood Sunday, July 24. Guests will enjoy dining with Tila, while enjoying his hand-picked favorite Thai dishes at a variety of neighborhood cafés and restaurants. Guests will taste papaya salad, Jade noodles, “pork jerky” and finger desserts, and will learn insider tips for shopping for Thai ingredients and recipes. Summer at Church Key
Church Key offers fried chicken carts on Tuesday nights this summer. Enjoy buttermilk fried chicken, in half and whole portions, along with cheddar jalapeño biscuits. A new gaucho lunch menu at Fogo de Chao is starting at $15, and is served Monday through Friday. For a dineLA lunch at Knuckle and Claw, guests can select chips or slaw and then enjoy a fresh Maine lobster roll with a split-top bun, chipotle aioli, avocado, and crumbled cotija cheese. Guests can also choose a California salad made with fresh Maine lobster, romaine lettuce, fresh corn, avocado, crumbled cotija cheese, and dressed with chipotle honey vinaigrette. Manhattan House celebrates their first year
Guests who have a birthday during the month of July can dine with friends and receive a complimentary entrée up to $25. To qualify for the birthday special, guest must show proof of birth date with a government issued ID. Also this month, Manhattan House has launched “Happier Hour” with drinks, including beer, wine, cocktails and mocktails 51 percent off everyday from 5 – 6:30 p.m. Additionally, Executive Chef, Diana Stavaridis, prepares a rotating gourmet small bites menu. Curtis Stone opens Gwen
Curtis Stone and his brother Luke recently launched a world-class restaurant and European-style butcher shop – Gwen. A five-course degustation menu showcases a mix of individually plated and shared dishes including charcuterie from the butcher shop. There are classic and innovative vegetable and pasta dishes, and beautiful meats prepared with primitive fire-cooking methods over the in-house fire pit and asador. Vegetarian options are available for each course. Set in a 1920’s old Hollywood building, the elegant 80-seat restaurant pays homage to the original character of the building with one-of-a-kind furnishings. Hollywood’s new Chocolate Bar
The recently-opened Chocolate Bar Pastries Café serves an assortment of tarts, cakes, French eclairs, cannoli’s, truffles and hot churros with a chocolate dipping sauce.
