The Melrose Business Improvement District (BID) approved conceptual plans to implement a street-wise valet parking program modeled after a similar program operating at West Third Street between Crescent Heights and La Cienega Boulevards.

The BID contracted with Civic Enterprise Associates (CEA) to provide services.

There will be two to three valet stands – one at the west side from Martel Ave. to Stanley Ave., one from Poinsettia Pl. to Detroit St., and one at the east side for the area near La Brea Ave.

The valet parking will be available for anyone.

Valet parking should operate at 6 p.m. when neighborhood parking district restrictions create increased demand, according to analysis conducted by CEA.

The valet should address a critical problem that CEA identified that the area is not well served by existing small valet operators.

The BID will secure a block of available parking spaces through the owner stakeholders and contract with professional valet operations for those spaces.
