The Los Angeles Unified School District’s (LAUSD) Board of Education has approved the appointment of Joseph Stark as executive director of LAUSD Division of Adult and Career Education (DACE).
More than 86,000 adults and secondary students are enrolled in DACE classes.
Stark began his career 18 years ago teaching English as a second language at Venice Community Adult School. Stark is currently administrator of the division – the second-highest position in the DACE. He returned to the LAUSD two years ago after serving as the director of adult education with the Burbank Unified School District. Stark was also one of the original executive team members of the newly formed L.A. Regional Adult Education Consortium. His contract is approved through June 30, 2017.
