In celebration of the 2016 L.A. Pride Festival in West Hollywood on June 10, 11 and 12, the city of West Hollywood’s free shuttle to Hollywood and Highland, CitylineX, and the city’s free weekend nighttime and Sunday Funday ride, The PickUp, will get together and become “Pride Ride” for the weekend.
The service will offer a safe way to reach a destination in West Hollywood during Pride weekend. Pride Ride will run along Santa Monica Boulevard in a four-mile loop with 15 stops in each direction between Robertson Boulevard and La Brea Avenue on Friday, June 10 from 1 p.m. to 3 a.m.; on Saturday, June 11 from 11 a.m. to 3 a.m.; and on Sunday, June 12 from 2 p.m to 2 a.m.
Pride Ride will offer free service along three routes – a PDF map and route guide are available at www.weho.org/prideride.
On Friday, the West Hollywood Dyke March will take place beginning at West Hollywood Park located at 647 N. San Vicente Blvd. The program will include a welcome from members of the West Hollywood City Council and a presentation of the Etheridge Award to this year’s honoree, the June Mazer Lesbian Archives. Following the awards will be brief comedy sets hosted by UnCabaret and featuring funny women Julie Goldman, Selene Luna and Marsha Warfield. The march will begin at 7:30 p.m., with participants heading from the Festival grounds along Santa Monica Boulevard to Crescent Heights Boulevard and back.
The Christopher Street West Annual L.A. Pride Festival will be on Friday, June 10 from 6 p.m. to 1 a.m., Saturday, June 11, from 2 p.m. to 1 a.m. and on Sunday, June 12 from 12 p.m. to 11 p.m. at West Hollywood Park, located at 647 N. San Vicente Blvd.
On Sunday, June 12, the annual Pride Parade will take place. It steps off at 10:45 a.m. from the intersection of Santa Monica and Crescent Heights Boulevards and travels westbound along Santa Monica Boulevard, just past the main entrance of the Pride Festival at San Vicente Boulevard, ending at Robertson Boulevard.
Visitors may also take one of several Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) bus lines that connect to the city of West Hollywood, including: 105, 705, 4, 704, 217, 218 and 312. More information is available at www.metro.net.
