Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) officials recently joined parents, community members and special guests to celebrate the completion of $70,000 worth of technology and infrastructure upgrades to the Parent Center at Selma Avenue Elementary School. Pictured are Selma 5^th grader Amy Tapia (left), LAUSD board president Steve Zimmer, Selma Avenue Elementary principal Glendy Marin, LAUSD chief facilities executive Mark Hovatter, Selma Avenue Elementary 5^th grader Trinity Diaz-Brinoes, LAUSD Local District West administrator of operations Jan Davis, Selma Avenue Elementary 5^th grader Joshua Granados, and Selma Avenue Elementary School parents Lafayette Reed and Abul Samandary. The project included new paint, doors and hardware. Floors were also repaired, and new white boards and bulletin boards were installed. The project also added new classroom furniture and laptop computers, and upgraded security. Selma Avenue Elementary School is located at 6611 Selma Ave. in Hollywood.
