Sample Ballard Canyon Estate wines at a special winemaker dinner tonight, June 2 at Bourbon Steak at the Americana at Brand. The dinner includes selections from Beckmen, Rusack Estate and Larner Vineyards & Winery. A reception with a glass of wine starts at 6:30 p.m. followed by dinner at 7 p.m. Guests will taste Beckmen’s 2014 PMV viognier, 2013 PMV grenache and 2013 PMV syrah, and three Rusack Estate wines including a 2013 syrah, 2013 reserve syrah and 2013 zinfandel. Summer nights at Grand Central Market

On Friday, June 3, L.A.’s iconic Grand Central Market starts a new tradition with an evening of food and drink, live music, outdoor movies and entertainment. National Doughnut Day

Friday, June 3 is National Doughnut Day, and Donut Farm in Silver Lake will offer a free cup of coffee to the first 30 customers who purchase a doughnut. Donut Farm brews organic, fair trade McLaughlin Coffee from the Bay Area. The doughnut shop and coffee bar is 100 percent vegan and organic, offering classic favorites and rotating seasonal flavors with ingredients from local farmers’ markets. Inventive flavors include salted caramel; lavender earl grey; matcha green tea; roasted red chili; WTF – whiskey, tangerine and fig; and Mexican hot chocolate. Connie and Ted’s celebrates in June

On Saturday, June 4, the chefs at Connie and Ted’s are serving a special third anniversary lunch and dinner menu. The three-course lunch is $25 and dinner is $40 per person. The anniversary celebration continues throughout June, and each day the restaurant will offer a food and beverage special including baked stuffed lobster and a glass of Huber rosé zweigelt on Mondays. Diners will enjoy bivalves and beer on Tuesdays, and gumbo paired with Sazerac cocktails on Wednesdays. Taco Thursdays include fish tacos and micheladas. Beach dining and fun

Enjoy food and cocktails from local Santa Monica restaurants at the annual “Pedal on the Pier” fundraiser on Sunday, June 5 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Santa Monica Pier. The event supports the Harold Robinson Foundation, which helps underserved kids in Los Angeles attend summer camp. Participants ride stationary bikes on the pier to raise money for the foundation. Mr. C Beverly Hills summer party

Celebrating its fifth anniversary, Mr. C Beverly Hills will offer a variety of Venetian-inspired poolside and culinary experiences this summer from Monday, June 6 through Aug. 30. Cipriani restaurant at Mr. C Beverly Hills introduces a special five-course anniversary menu for $55. Executive chef Giuseppe Manco prepares dishes showcasing the classic bellini and beef carpaccio, originally invented by Giuseppe Cipriani at Harry’s Bar in Venice, Italy. Other menu selections include baked white tagliolini with ham or mushrooms and light cream sauce; baby artichoke and avocado salad with light olive oil and lemon dressing; and Mr. C’s famous vanilla meringue cake. Every other Tuesday through Aug. 30 at 7 p.m., patrons can enjoy dinner and a movie under the stars. Guests can reserve movie seats by purchasing a Mr. C Cinema prix-fixe menu dinner for $35 or $45 per person.
