Tony Award winning actress Julie Newmar will appear at the “CatConLA 2016” convention on Saturday June 25 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with her brother John Newmeyer, author of “The Mediterranean Universe.” The convention, which centers on cats, will be held on June 25 and 26 at The Reef in downtown Los Angeles.

Newmar portrayed Catwoman on the “Batman” television series in the 1960s. She received a Tony Award for her performance in the Broadway comedy “Marriage-Go-Round.” She also portrayed herself in the 1995 movie “To Wong Foo, Thanks For Everything! Julie Newmar.”
John Newmeyer sees cats not as pets but as masters proud, capable and fierce, similar to the character portrayed by his sister, who is known as “the original Catwoman.”
“CatConLA” features products and ideas in art, design and pop culture for cat people. Part expo and part symposium, the convention showcases cat-centric merchandise including furniture, art, toys and clothing.
The Reef is located at 1933 S. Broadway, downtown. For information, visit www.catconla.com.
